Thus we have invested through several credit cycles and can take independent views on market opportunities and mispriced situations.
• We have a substantial history of issuer and industry performance and an extensive proprietary network of contacts developed over many years which allows us to source attractive investments ‘off market’, often with little effective competition.
• We are based in Europe and have many years experience of investing across Europe from Scandinavia in the North to Greece in the South.
• We have restructured companies across the many different legal jurisdictions; in particular, UK, Germany, France and Italy and are conversant with the many pitfalls at every turn and are therefore best placed to understand complicated and multi-jurisdictional corporate/capital structures and assess investor strengths and weaknesses.
• We have sat on many bond holders and creditors committees as well as taking up non executive directorships on company boards that we have an economic interest in.
• Through our investment activity on special situations, distressed debt and event driven credit platforms we have many cross fertilisation opportunities. We have the ability to detect and follow potential stressed/distressed opportunities in the credit markets. Such early access to management and information gives us a competitive edge.
